Shaping the Future of UK Manufacturing: Leo Crabtree Joins Make UK’s Future Makers Group

We’re incredibly proud to share that Leo Crabtree, Manufacturing Engineer at NIS, is playing a key role in shaping the future of UK manufacturing through his involvement in Make UK’s exciting new initiative – the Future Makers Group.

This inspiring programme brings together regional winners of Make UK’s annual apprentice awards to collaborate on practical steps to attract, recruit, and retain young talent in manufacturing, while also championing National Manufacturing Day within their regions.

Leo’s selection for the group follows his recognition as Engineering Apprentice: Final Year at last year’s Make UK North West Awards.  As part of his involvement with the Future Makers Group, Leo recently had the incredible opportunity to visit 11 Downing Street, the official residence of Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor of the Exchequer.  The visit provided a unique platform for Future Makers to engage directly with policymakers, sharing their perspectives on the future of manufacturing and the importance of investing in young talent.
