NIS Appoints New Managing Director

Despite the obvious challenges COVID 19 presented, the last 12-18 months have proved to be hugely exciting for NIS as we start to see the culmination of many years of hard work to secure a number of strategically critical, high value, projects.  We started our journey to excellence with a clear vision to assert ourselves as the UK Centre of Excellence for glovebox design and manufacture and we are thrilled that this is now very much being brought to life with contracts, worth in excess of £15m, now in progress with all of our major nuclear and defence clients, including NNL, AWE and Sellafield Ltd Project and Programme Partners.

The growth of the business is now underpinned, providing exciting opportunities for our #excellentpeople, our partners and our extended supply chain.  It is increasingly important that the internal focus of the business maintains ever-more efficient project delivery whilst we also continue to develop our strategic plans with our key client base.   This is therefore the right time to complete the transition of the role of NIS Ltd Managing Director from Gill Marsden to her Deputy, Steve Rothwell, effective 8th December 2021.

Speaking about the changes Gill said “Serving NIS as their Managing Director has been the greatest privilege of my career, and I’m thrilled to be handing on the baton to such a great friend and colleague.  Steve has been instrumental in embedding a Quality-focused performance culture, and I know he will continue to lead and evolve the business with the values that we both hold so dear at the heart of everything we do.  I’m very much looking forward to the next phase of NIS Ltds evolution, and continuing to support Steve as a member of the NIS Executive Board focusing on our client relationships and the continued strategic growth of NIS Ltd and the wider Group companies ”

Ahead of his appointment Steve said “Extremely excited is probably the best way to describe how I’m feeling, but I’m also incredibly proud to be tasked with leading a business that has very quickly grown to mean so much to me.  I came to NIS because of Gill and what she stands for as a person, friend and leader, Gill embodies everything that is NIS.  The people at NIS are amongst the best I’ve ever worked with, and Gills legacy leaves us with the strongest foundations to continue our growth long into the future”.

The NIS Holdings board want to thank Gill for her hard work and dedication during her tenure as Managing Director underpinning the growth and culture of the business and look forward to working with Steve as he leads NIS maintaining focus on business delivery.  We are pleased that Gill will remain as a Director supporting Steve, NIS, the wider group companies and our customers.
