We are recruiting for Senior Design Engineers to support the delivery of complex engineering projects through the production of technically sound and compliant engineering design solutions.
The role of the Senior Design Engineer is to produce and review engineering designs, models and drawings, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant, manufacturable and aligned with project requirements. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, you will support projects throughout the design lifecycle while driving quality, continuous improvement and engineering best practice.
Below is an outline of duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver engineering design activities to agreed budgets and schedules, identifying and escalating potential risks and variances.
- Produce Concept, Scheme and Detail Design 3D models and drawings, ensuring operational, manufacturing, construction and installation requirements are addressed.
- Produce and check manufacturing and assembly drawings for complex machined and fabricated components in compliance with BS 8888 and other relevant standards.
- Develop engineering design solutions that are safe, compliant and aligned with applicable legislation, regulations and engineering requirements.
- Apply conventional and nuclear safety principles throughout the engineering design process.
- Maintain effective configuration control of engineering models, drawings and documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and technical assurance activities to verify engineering solutions and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Work collaboratively with engineering disciplines, stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop integrated engineering solutions.
- Provide technical support during procurement, manufacture, assembly, testing, installation and commissioning activities.
- Produce engineering deliverables to the required quality standards, applying right-first-time principles and minimising rework.
- Support continuous improvement activities and contribute to the implementation of Learning from Experience (LFE) and engineering best practice.
