Head of Procurement

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Procurement, to provide Strategic leadership of the entire procurement function, defining and spearheading the realisation of the long-term vision for NIS procurement, in line with the business plan, including establishment and maintenance of all required systems, resources, and processes as necessary to deliver this.

Below is an outline of duties and responsibilities: –

  • Accountable for overseeing the improvement, implementation and maintenance of a full suite of Procurement and Supply Chain policies and procedures
  • Accountable for successful implementation of a supplier development programme – working with all functional leads to deliver the broader needs of the business and ensure the supply chain are a true extension of NIS internal capability
  • Accountable for devising and implementing a risk-based approach to procurement and supply chain management across all portfolios – ensuring this is updated and revised accordingly aligned to evolving business need.
  • Performance and line management of the supply chain managers and wider team ensuring longevity and continuity of service to the business through effective succession planning, development and definition of roles and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for effective integration of the supply chain management function with the wider business and project portfolios, group companies and partner organisations
  • Accountable for overarching Supplier Relationship Management with the supply chain at all tiers – including appropriate operational level steering groups and committees
  • Development and maintenance of effective working relationships and shared services with the NIS Group sister companies
  • Achieve NIS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives as agreed with Portfolio lead /Director and set out within the business plan
  • Work alongside the commercial team to ensure all procurements are placed on suitable terms and that appropriate contract mechanisms are in place to enable delivery of the required out-sourced services and procurements, protecting both NIS’ commercial interests and those of the supply chain.
  • In conjunction with the Commercial Portfolio Lead and Commercial Manager(s), review and re-establish as necessary, all existing contractual engagement with the supply chain, evaluating legal risk, liabilities, and obligations for delivered product/service.
  • Accountable for authorising make/buy decisions. Continuously review NIS internal capability and capacity against the prevailing market and competitors. Carry out cost benefit analysis of outsourcing strategies.
  • Working with the project delivery and finance teams, establish and maintain systems for continuous analysis of supply chain spend versus budget and targets. Responsible for periodic review of pricing with all major suppliers across categories.
