NIS growth drives Leadership team expansion

As we start a new and incredibly exciting financial year, we are pleased to share a number of key changes that have been introduced to the NIS Team structure. The changes are primarily driven by the need to accommodate and achieve the significant business growth we are seeing as a result of several major contract awards, but they will also ensure that we continue to drive our delivery performance to achieve our mission of excellence in engineering and manufacturing. On the 1st April Managing Director Gill Marsden announced that Operations Director, Steve Rothwell, was to be appointed Deputy Managing Director, and Steve Bradshaw joined the NIS Ltd Executive Board as Engineering Director. These moves further enhance our expertise in integrated design for manufacture, and they perfectly complement the role David Brown now plays as Technical Director with responsibility for Product Development and Assurance as well as steering our Digital strategy. In his role of Deputy Managing Director, Steve Rothwell will continue to have Directorial oversight of all NIS Operations, however it is recognized that additional capacity is required to continue to drive customer focused performance across the portfolios, therefore Tom Atkinson will take on a new role supporting Steve as Head of Project Portfolios.  Tom, and the Directors will support a new Senior Leadership Team comprising of 8 Portfolio Leads who will be focused on the safe and efficient delivery of our Project Portfolios. The increased volume of work in our Nuclear and Defence Portfolios will also see us expand into a new 4500sq ft office building at Wilton House, just over the road from our Headquarters on Ackhurst Road. Ackhurst Business Park Speaking about the growth, Gill Marsden said “It is a testament to all of the excellent people at NIS that not only has our business survived in an environment where so many have struggled, but that we are looking to start FY 2021/22 in the strongest position we have known for well over a decade, I really couldn’t be prouder of the whole team
