Success for NIS

NIS is delighted to announce that we have started production for the supply of approximately 300 soffit plates for the six cubic metre reinforced concrete boxes that will be used for the packaging, transport and disposal of Intermediate Level Wastes on site.

We have been successfully delivering the design and manufacture of bespoke solutions such as gloveboxes, high integrity containments, handling solutions and integrated systems to the Nuclear, Defence and High Technology industries for over 35 years. The capability we have developed to produce repeat manufacturing of higher volume units complements our existing offer and further cements our position in the Nuclear Manufacturing Supply Chain.

Gill Marsden, Managing Director said, “Strategically this is a huge win for us at a crucial stage of our transformation. With the healthiest order book, we’ve had in almost a decade we now have all of the cornerstones in place to rapidly accelerate our journey to Excellence”.

Our Operations Director, Steve Rothwell, added, “The award of this new contract further enhances and demonstrates our ability to deliver to our customers high integrity volume alongside bespoke manufacturing requirements in a concurrent manner. The new award allows NIS to continue its strategy to support both avenues of opportunity now and in the future. We look forward to working with Magnox in the delivery of the new requirements over the next two years.
